What You Must See On A City Trip To London

London has a lot to offer tourists. Art, kitsch, fashion and contemporary elements have their place in different parts of the city. A golden rule you must never forget during your visit, use public transport!
The roads of London are busy and complicated and certainly as a tourist it is almost impossible to find your way in a maze of streets. The taxis have a very low price and the red London buses are an attraction on their own. With the subway you are in no time at the place where you want to be.

In London you can also see a variety of shows, musicals, slapstick and classic plays are open to the public. In summertime you can go to Regents Park for outdoor performances of Shakespeare's greatest works. Most theatres are located in the West End.

The classics in London (which almost everyone knows), is absolutely worth a visit. The Tower of London, Big Ben, St. Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey are monuments that will ring a bell with everybody. London is also the home to several major museums. The British Museum is the most famous, but be sure you also visit the National Portrait Gallery, The National Gallery, the Science Museum and the Imperial War Museum.

Even shopaholics will discover a paradise in London. Especially now that the city in the last years is more a more profiled as a shopping city. Walk through Oxford Street, Regent Street, Carnaby Street and visit Piccadilly Circus. The big, huge and luxurious department stores, such as Harrods and Selfridges, are definitely worth a visit. If you have your children with you, visit Hamleys. This is the largest toy store in the world, where both you and your children can walk hours between the huge isles of toys. Madame Tussaud's is world famous for her wax figures and is definitely worth a look.
If you stay more than one day in London, use the various shuttle services to visit Oxford with its world renowned university and its megaliths Stonehenge, Windsor (home to the Windsor castle) and Stratford Upon Avon (home to Shakespeare) and Hampton Court Palace.

London, the capital of the Britain, is truly a world city and is an ideal destination for a city trip. The river Thames goes beyond everyone's imagination for centuries. From Little Venice to Camden Town to Notting Hill, each neighborhood breathes a different atmosphere. Whether you are there for the first time or the tenth time, a city break in London has always new things to discover. This city has more to offer than you can see in a few days. London is a city of culture and entertainment for all ages!
